As our Founder, Isabella Li has devoted her time during the Covid-19 pandemic to reflect on her passion to create an educational music performing community for young musicians and educators everywhere. She hopes Musicale will cultivate connection and growth among students and teachers.

VICTOR ROSENBAUM

INNA FALIKS

Ukrainian-born American pianist Inna Faliks has established herself as one of the most exciting, committed, communicative and poetic artists of her generation.  Faliks has made a name for herself through her commanding performances of standard piano repertoire,  as well genre-bending interdisciplinary projects, and inquisitive work with contemporary composers.

DMITRY RACHMANOV

Pianist Dmitry Rachmanov has garnered much acclaim for his passionate performances, refined musicianship and brilliant pianism. Hailed as an "indisputable musician" by the Brussels' Le Soir and "suave and gifted pianist' by the New York Times, Rachmanov has been heard at venues such as New York's Carnegie Hall, Washington DC's Kennedy Center, London's Barbican and South Bank Centres, and Beijing Concert Hall, and his tours brought him to Canada, Mexico, Europe, Russia, Turkey and the Far East.

PETER TAKÁCS

Hailed by the New York Times as “a marvelous pianist,” Peter Takács has performed widely, receiving critical and audience acclaim for his penetrating and communicative musical interpretations.

ROBERTO POLI

Born in Venice, Italy, Roberto Poli is an eloquent communicator and a rising exponent of the music of Fryderyk Chopin, which he has comprehensively studied through manuscripts and original editions and widely performed throughout the world.

PAVLINA DOKOVSKA

Ms. Dokovska is the Chair of the Piano Department at Mannes School of Music in New York City and the Founder and Artistic Director of Mannes Sounds Festival and Southwest Virginia Festival for the Arts.

INGRID CLARFIELD

Ingrid Jacobson Clarfield, Professor and Head of the Piano Division at Westminster Choir College is a nationally recognized performer, clinician and author. She has presented workshops, lecture-recitals and master classes in over 150 cities in 40 states across North America, including State and National MTNA Conferences, National Conference of Keyboard Pedagogy, and other prestigious conferences and festivals.

An award-winning pianist, Andrew Focks has performed as a solo recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician in venues throughout the United States, Hungary, Italy, Austria, Germany, England, and China.

Jose Ramos Santana is one of the most acclaimed pianist of his generation and an acknowledged master of Spanish Piano Music.

SIMONE DINNERSTEIN

Simone Dinnerstein is an American pianist. She lives in Brooklyn, New York with her husband, son and dog, less than a mile from the hospital in which she was born.

Scott McBride Smith is a recognized leader in worldwide music education. As the Cordelia Brown Murphy Professor of Piano Pedagogy at the University of Kansas and as Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Piano Department at China Conservatory in Beijing, he focuses on international issues of piano teaching, teacher training and piano pedagogy.

CATHERINE ROLLIN

Catherine Rollin is an active pianist, composer, author and teacher of prize winning students.  

As a composer, Catherine has over 400 pieces published with Alfred Publishing Co.. Her music  has been lauded for its lyric melodies and “teachability.” She has received numerous  prestigious commissions including a trio for piano, flute and alto saxophone commissioned by  the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and premiered in 2018 at the MTNA  Conference in Orlando, Florida.

JEFFREY SWANN

JEFFREY SWANN enjoys an international performing career which has taken him  throughout the United States, Europe, Latin America and Asia. He won first prize in the  Dino Ciani Competition sponsored by La Scala in Milan, a gold medal at the Queen  Elisabeth Competition, a bronze medal at the Van Cliburn Competition, and top honors  at the Warsaw Chopin, Vianna da Motta and Montreal Competitions, as well as the  Young Concert Artists auditions in New York City. His large and varied repertoire  includes more than 60 concertos as well as solo works ranging from Bach to Boulez.

STEPHEN DRURY

Pianist and conductor STEPHEN DRURY has performed throughout the world with a repertoire that stretches from Bach to Liszt to the music of today. He has appeared at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Barbican Centre and Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, the Cité de la Musique in Paris, and the Leipzig Gewandhaus, and from Arkansas to Seoul. A champion of contemporary music, he has taken the sound of dissonance into remote corners of Pakistan, Greenland and Montana.

TimeOut New York describes her as ‘the wonderfully lyrical pianist’ whereas The New Yorker refers to her as ‘New York’s queen of avant-garde piano’. Lisa Moore’s performances combine music and theatre with expressive and emotional power – whether in the delivery of the simplest song (using her voice), a solo recital, or a fiendish chamber score. Pitchfork writes “She’s the best kind of contemporary classical musician, one so fearsomely game that she inspires composers to offer her their most wildly unplayable ideas”.

URSULA OPPENS

Ursula Oppens, a legend among American pianists, is widely admired particularly for her original and perceptive readings of new music, but also for her knowing interpretations of the standard repertoire. No other artist alive today has commissioned and premiered more new works for the piano.

OLGA KERN

Russian-American pianist Olga Kern is now recognized as one of her generation’s great artists.  With her vivid stage presence, passionately confident musicianship and extraordinary technique, the striking pianist continues to captivate fans and critics alike. 

HUNG-KUAN CHEN

One of the most honored pianists of his generation, Mr. Chen won top prizes in the Arthur Rubinstein, Busoni, and Geza Anda International Piano Competitions, and in the Young Concert Artists International Piano Auditions. He also won prizes in the Queen Elisabeth, Montreal International Musical and Van Cliburn International Piano Competitions, as well as an Avery Fisher Career Grant.

PHYLLIS LEHRER

Phyllis Alpert Lehrer is known internationally as a performer, teacher, clinician, author and adjudicator. She has given master classes, workshops and enjoyed an active concert career as a soloist and collaborative artist in the United States, Canada, Central America, Asia and Europe. Her performances have met with much critical acclaim: “Warmth and vibrancy at its best,” The Times (London); “An able warmhearted pianist…Impressive musicianly qualities,” Daily Telegraph (London); “an admirable musicality …” (The New York Times).

CATHERINE KAUTSKY

Catherine Kautsky, Chair of Keyboard at Lawrence University, has been lauded by the New York Times as “a pianist who can play Mozart and Schubert as though their sentiments and habits of speech coincided exactly with hers … The music spoke directly to the listener, with neither obfuscation nor pretense.” She was the 2016 winner of the Lawrence Excellence in Teaching Award, the 2013 winner of the university’s Faculty Convocation Award, and in 2017 she was honored with the George and Marjorie Olsen Chandler Chair in Music. Her recording of the Debussy Preludes, released by Centaur in September, 2014, was said to “bring out all the power, majesty, and mystery of Debussy’s conception,“ and a recording of the complete Brahms Sonatas for Violin and Piano was released in 2019 to top reviews.
